Game Plan

My frequent updating is going to stop being so frequent very soon.  We got ourselves a game plan, folks.  GO TEAM CANCER GO.  Dr. Unibrow is going to harvest the magical power in his one brow and use this energy to evaporate the cancer.  Bzzzzz.   ZAP.

The biggest threat to my mortality right now is a reoccurence (and also my road rage, but that is neither here nor there).  We have to make sure that any tiny cancer cells which are floating around, plotting my demise and being downright evil, die terrible deaths.  (DIE SUCKERS DIE!)  That means...  chemotherapy.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen.  My giant sized head might lose all its hair.  I should have never made all those bald jokes to my brother.  God has a sense of humor.   After chemotherapy, we will move on to radiation and then conclude this trifecta of evil with hormone therapy.

I have an appointment with a thyroid surgeon on Wednesday.  Chemotherapy has to start soon, like within the next two weeks.  Bye bye old life.  I'll miss you.

Since I am not wise, I leave you with a quote from someone wiser than me:

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat.  I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

  1. Take a day now- before you start chemo.

Make the time, clear a day. Just for you.
Be yourself. Take that time to enjoy who you are in that moment, be alone or have your loved ones with you.
Go to a movie, or take a long walk. It might be a while before you will have a chance to do it again. Climb a mountain. Meditate for a day. Get a full body massage.

If I could pass any advice along it's that. Take some time before this all starts (Wash and I took 4 weeks after his surgery before he started chemo and rad) to just exist.

Do whatever you want in that time, but make the time, and take it.

    And laugh. Laughing helps.

    *hugs*
Game plan set, ready yourself, and GO.
