"But You're So Young"

I've collected stories of young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Here are the links to each of their respective stories:

20s

Ashley

Sophia

If anyone has come across this page because you think you might have breast cancer and see a part of you in any of these stories, please go to your doctor and get checked out.  None of these stories should be construed as medical advice. Listen to your body, first and foremost.  Be your own advocate and never ignore any instincts.

  1. Hi Lara,

my name is Grazia. I'm an Italian born woman living with breast cancer. I was 30 when I was diagnosed, in 2010. I'm a blogger and a member of the Breast Cancer Consortium, a network set up by Gayle Sulik with the aim to change the conversation about breast cancer. Together with a friend and fellow member of BCC, I'm editing a special issue of the newsletter of the BCC entitled 'Demystifying Breast Cancer - Share Your Story' (the link is below). We'd love to hear from you and the women whose stories you've shared in your blog. Best wishes,

    Grazia

  3. Hi Lara,
Thank you so much for this blog! My friend passed it along to me and I can't stop reading! My name is Marjie and I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26. It is so hard to find young women survivors and patients, so I have been doing all I can to reach out, and recently participated in the Young Survival Coalition's Tour de Pink East Coast, a three-day, 200 mile bike ride to meet and support young women with breast cancer. Thank you for what you do! It is so very important. Keep up the wonderful work. You are touching so many lives! All the best, Marjie

    1. Marjie, your comment just brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much. If you don't mind, I'd love to include your story here, too. Althea.blue@gmail.com. Also, if you are on FB, there is a closed, private group for cancer survivors I belong to, and there are a lot of young women who have had breast cancer. Email me if you are interested in joining this group.
